Music | Weekly Hitlist
Week 2 of the new weekly hitlist. I pop open the ‘top 25′ in my iTunes and here is what I see. I bought the soundtrack to Once a few weeks ago; I haven’t spun it much until this week. In Rainbows is still peppering the list along with a few odds and ends. Check out Chris Velan when you get a chance and ‘Sullivan Street’ is the best track off of August and Everything After.
I’ve just got to ask it: Why is Glen Hansard getting so much play? Any theories?

Probably because i just got that album and i am wearing it out. It really is good.
globally? because he is fresh and raw and people are thirsty for that.

I guess because I thought “Once” was cute in a streetwise, love story/musicians on the rise, sort of way, but the music was just a little above average. Don’t get me wrong, I like folk music…and I love Irish music. But there are a hundred other artists that I would have thought would make it to the top of Itunes…like Sara Bareilles. JMO

Sara Bareilles is starting to grow on me.

Ok, I’ve got to throw my two cents in.
Sara Bareilles is ok but I found her style and singing grew old pretty quick. I’m not saying she’s not good, just not something that would be at the top of any of my lists.
I love the Once soundtrack!! Those songs are absolutely brilliant. Especially “Lies” and “Falling Slowly.” I could listen to that soundtrack for a long time and not get tired of it.

Bereilles is one of those people that you like right away…which leads to it getting old

Were I not a follower of Christ, I do believe I would attend the church of Radiohead. The Reckoner brings me back to the days of Ok Computer.

My bad…I read it wrong. I thought this was the top 25 for all of iTunes…I didn’t see it was your Top 25. That is what confused me a little.
