So far we've survived without one. The thought of a loaded shotgun behind the headboard does tend to sound a little appealing in case any thugs get all up my grill. But the thought of a 5 year old blowing his best friends head off immediately negates all sense of security. And I know people say that should never happen, but (1) it does and (2) what's the point of having an empty gun in an emergency?

On another note. I went to Fellowship Church in Texas and there was a sign on the door saying "no guns allowed". That seems very strange to me. As well as the fact the Ed has packin' heavyweights roaming the auditorium.

What's wrong with us?

I AM IN SHOCK! I thought the only people allowed to have guns in Cali were thugs! Seriously, I'm surprised you haven't been mobbed by soccer moms yet. Out here in the south getting your first fire arm is a right of passage, much like getting your drivers license. Although, we're talking about hunting rifles verses glocks but still.

We've been toying with the idea of getting one for a while. You never know who your gonna run into at the campground. Now that our sunday school teacher and his wife are both packin' it somehow makes it a little less scary for me.

Yeah. I saw a sign on cnn.com that said, "if guns kill people, than pens must misspell words." I thought it was clever.

I find it ironic that Jesus allowed, I believe 2 swords to be brought, there is no way that could have stopped the Roman Guard. And then when it was pulled out, Jesus basically scolded Peter for its use, "live by the sword, die by the sword". So maybe the sword toting disciples was more of a way of fulfilling prophecy.

But I think outlawing guns is treating the symptoms and not dealing with the sickness. People need to learn not to shoot other people.

Bro, I think you're REALLY pushing it if you equate a staff with a glock. On any level. Only an American would come up with that (in case you didn't know, I'm a gun-hating Canadian).

Chock one up for the constitution!
Although guns creep me out, the confiscation of my rights creep me out even more.

I recall one of the twelve disciples, Peter, chopping off a soldiers ear with his 'gat'. Apparently it was ok for peter to carry a sword, however, Jesus took issue with Peter using it to remove a soldier's ear.
