Me and Spelling or Spelling and I

If you read Nikao very often you notice that I am a terrible speller. A lot of it has to do with the fact that I am a speaker and not really a writer…although I am learning that one is well served by the other.

So I guess I need to just slow down and think through my spelling and sentence structure a little better.

One of my professors back in college once told me that I am “Good on my feet and not in my seat.” Should I work to change, or focus on my strengths?

In the “for what it’s worth” category, Speed Reading advocates say that many right-brained people can improve their spelling by reading at the 800 word/minute level and beyond. This is because when you read at that speed, you no longer sound out words in your head and you read phrases. The spelling of words becomes more intuitive when they are part of a perspective of phrases. The Evelyn Wood course helped me get up over 1,000 WPM and it has helped me not only with spelling but also with comprehension

I have been thinking of getting into some speed reading for quite a while. There is so much to read and so little time.
