MySpace vs. Facebook

Ever since I put the blog up I really only check in on Myspace and Facebook on occasion to hear from the poeple that seem to live and die on one or the other as far as e-communications go. I like to be available to people.

I find that a lot of the high school age kidsĀ  I know use MySpace like most of us use email. It’s really the way to get a hold of them, or how they get a hold of me.

I find that people my age (30ish) who are just cutting their teeth on e-communications tend to favor Facebook for the same reason. The people I knew in high school hit me up on occasion, and also people that funnel through Nikao hit me up there.

So which is better?

So far I have assessed that it is ‘cooler’ to say Facebook is better. Kind of like telling people you like Radiohead, Wilco and Wes Anderson movies. But is it really better?

Maybe MySpace thinks Facebook is better because they have tweaked the interface more and more to resemble Facebook. Maybe Facebook is the lesser because they don’t seem to be fine tuning the site, they are just happy to keep it the same old thing.

I will say, that something better has to come along, or may the blog has already replaced these social gems.

To all the Facebooker’s
I don’t want to be a Pirate or a Ninja.

To the Myspace faithful
I am already listening to music when I visit your page, so turn the off of autoplay_

dude, facebook is so much better! it really depends on your demographic though, i am in a college community so it works well here. we have actually used it a lot to help our church stay connected and know about events and stuff.
it is just more organized and easier to use in my opinion.

you are right though, the application invitations do get annoying. go ninjas!
