…of whom I am the worst
I have ended a lot of sermons ( i hate calling them sermons, more conversations) by asking a question;
What if you actually loved every person you encountered?
I think we wrestle inside our minds with what this actually means. This thought train usually derails with something like;
Hate the sin and love the sinner.
That may be true, but it provides insight into our own heart. We like to make it understood that we love people (love the sinner), but we are quick to make sure we keep a safe distance (hate the sin).
Instead, I like to think that Jesus showed us how to actually love people, in spite of what people might think. I would like to think that I am in a place where I could wrap my arms around anyone and show them truly how much I love them and in turn we could separate ourselves from OUR sins together in the grace of Christ.
Because, after all, I am the worst of all sinners.
Wow. It's Quiet Here...
