Zeitgeist | Do You Dare?
Zeitgeist: Zeit, time; Geist, spirit
Did you see it? Have you heard of it?
You probably shouldn’t watch it; let me come right out and say it.
But I will say that I enjoy dwelling on heavy thoughts. I enjoy hearing the view of those that are critical of my faith. I like to wrestle with their questions and see where my faith stands and ask myself what I really believe.
Nietzsche’s book, The Antichrist is in my bathroom and I challenge my faith with his ponderings on a daily basis. Maybe it’s because I think my faith is strongest under persecution and in America I have to search it out because we have it so good here.
So if you think you can dwell on heavy thoughts, maybe give it a look, it’s not for everyone.
So what do you really believe_
I watched it…even blogged about it about a year ago. His sources are weak. Massey was and still is a laughing stock in the scientific/archeological community. Comparative religion studies HAVE to be done objectively.
I went through a Nietzsche phase…Without faith, his viewpoint would be appealing to me, for all that’s left otherwise is morally vacant egocentricity.
If you ever get a chance, pick up Chesterton’s “the everlasting man.” While it was written a hundred years ago (i think) it is a great read to balance Zeitgeist.

@nate as far as facts and good leg work go, zeitgest was pretty weak.
maybe it was intentional. Part one was really bad as far as facts were concerned. Part Two was interesting as far as speculation. Part Three was full of facts, especially pertaining to the federal reserve system.
maybe they wanted to hook you with the spectacle of the first two parts in order for it to be easier to grasp the third.
either way, i like being given the opportunity to weigh my beliefs.

I agree with your take on all three parts. I def. agreed with a lot of what he said in the third part with the fed, baseless currency, and perhaps even some shady connections between the fed, the gov., and big business. BUT since I knew the scholasticism of the first section was full of presupositions and forced evidence, I had to question parts two and three. I too enjoy the opportunity to check my beliefs against other worldviews…I have journeyed a bit from the faith of my childhood as a result.

Zeitgeist, to the average Christian would be automatically refuted.
However, if you look around – there are more and more thesis’ and publications showing that Jesus is a copy-cat deity.
There are also many biblical scholars praising this “Scientific approach” to scripture.
Gerald Massey is becoming less and less of a “laughing stock” every day.

Copy Cat, or extra-biblical evidence of the history of our faith?
