Yes We Can….I think?
I would love to think that something as simple as a new president would change a lot of the things that need changing in this amazing country we live in. I really would love for it to be that easy.
The reality is that this whole thing is so big and complicated that the solutions are forced to be even bigger and more complicated creating a never ending cycle.
We can take comfort in a few things:
We didn’t elect Jesus
Meaning; this is a flawed man surrounded by a team of weak people leading a broken nation. The same situation we would have with any president.
This doesn’t change our purpose
Our mission as Christians remains the same. Love God. Love People. Do something about it.
So the question remains; who needs a savior?
I do.
Barack Obama does.
You do.
I will say that I am excited about the fact that a lot of people are excited. Not that it carries any weight eternally, it’s just nice that there is some good energy in the air, and that is beautiful and true.
'I am excited about the fact that a lot of people are excited' – me too.

sounds so simple, but it's so true

Following the enlightenment and the humanism that was birthed up until our present transition into post-modernism out of modernism, we are increasingly and intentionally putting our faith in trust in political figures; in the state.
Secular humanism – - Man is brilliant; godlike
Modernism–God is dead, man is a God
PM – - God? No absolute truth, the state decides for me who and what I am.
All that to say, I agree with you. Anyone who believes (and most do) that any president can solve the mess we're in (even if he was allotted such juridical power–a mess created by His/her colleagues and citizens– is in for a let down.

I try really hard to stay out of anything political in the blogging world, but I gotta say this is one the best posts I've seen concerning political stuff; and there's been a ton of posts. Props, Vince.
