I’m not gonna lie, the new Impact Church website is hot. Sure the color scheme is not what you have come to expect from a church website, brown and mustard, but someone has to blaze the trail toward the cutting edge.

I’ll let you in on a little secret, especially if you are a church plant like us, or a smaller church on a budget. The site is built on an open source platform (read: FREE) called Joomla and the template was picked up at Rockettheme.com. It means the site went from an idea to live with about 20 hours of work.
Do me a favor, go check it out and then come back over here and let me know what you think. Be honest, we’re not too proud.

Overall I like it, but I have to be honest…mouseover menus make me crazy. I’d druther those menus drop on a click…but that’s just me.

Very modern… have to say, not big on the mustard home page, but the chocolate and coffee look is pretty cool!
I’m pretty visual and was a little bummed that there were not more photos. When I look for a cool church to check out, I want to see what the people look like when they’re doing life together.
All in all, it’s way better than most Church websites. Love it…

@eric :: yeah, we need more photos. We’re unleashing the photogs this week at church so we can fill the site up with fresh pics.
all told, there is a lot of content that needs to be filled in

Oh yeah… and I love the “digerati” page, especially the twitter video, but… uh… what does that word even mean?

I like it, but not the mustard. Esp the mustard on orange for the fishing trip advert. Ouch.
But very impressed with the overall look and feel (I do like mouseover menus)

@david we’re working on the tag that handles that orange style…the orange clashes pretty bad. thanks for the input.
