LA Ink Continues

by Vince on April 22, 2009

Friday, I am heading to LA to film the first part of my LA Ink adventure. This is the part where I go over the concept with the artist and we brainstorm the design. This doesn’t mean the segment will actually air, the wild card here is the price, which we will figure out.

As far as the design, I’m not gonna totally give it away, but here’s a hint from Joel chapter 2:

7 They charge like warriors; they scale walls like soldiers.
They all march in line,
not swerving from their course.

8 They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead.
They plunge through defenses
without breaking ranks.

9 They rush upon the city; they run along the wall.
They climb into the houses;
like thieves they enter through the windows.

10 Before them the earth shakes, the sky trembles,
the sun and moon are darkened,
and the stars no longer shine.

11 The Lord thunders at the head of his army;
his forces are beyond number,
and mighty are those who obey his command.
The day of the Lord is great;
it is dreadful.
Who can endure it?

LA Ink Update

by Vince on August 5, 2008

So yesterday I headed into Hollywood for an on-camera interview with LA Ink. Walking around LA is fun because everyone dresses like they’re in a rock band. I am pretty sure that the deli/coffee shop that I had lunch in with Tom had an unwritten ‘dress like a rockstar’ policy. Which is cool, I got some good fashion tips. I need some pointy-er shoes.

For the interview I stood in front of a camera and talked with casting directors about the tattoo idea and life in general. The tattoo I am looking to get is the scene from Joel 2. It was a fun time even though my wrist is numb from filling out 89 waivers and releases_

The Reality of it All

by Vince on July 30, 2008

So yesterday, out of the blue, I get a call from LA Ink. You know, the reality show on TLC. Then I remembered that I hit my StumbleUpon button one day and got a sign up page for LA Ink…so I filled it out.I’m not really sure how all this reality TV tryout stuff works but I have to haul my butt down to Hollywood on Monday for what they called an ‘on camera interview‘. I was assured I don’t have to wait in lines, which I don’t do very well.

Not sure what to expect, but I’m going to have a good time no matter what. You can follow the play by play on my Twitter. Maybe Los can give me some pointers_
