I’m the type of person that likes to take my medicine quick and get it over with. I’m not a financial expert, but Ron Paul is. Time for school…

Ron Paul Wisdom

by Vince on August 11, 2008

I love Ron Paul. Here is a portion of a speech he gave in the house regarding H. RES. 1370 Calling on the Government of the People’s Republic of China to immediately end abuses of the human rights of its citizens.

Madam Speaker, I rise in opposition to this resolution, which is yet another meaningless but provocative condemnation of China . It is this kind of jingoism that has led to such a low opinion of the United States abroad. Certainly I do not condone human rights abuses, wherever they may occur, but as Members of the US House of Representatives we have no authority over the Chinese government. It is our Constitutional responsibility to deal with abuses in our own country or those created abroad by our own foreign policies. Yet we are not debating a bill to close Guantanamo , where abuses have been documented. We are not debating a bill to withdraw from Iraq , where scores of innocents have been killed, injured, and abused due to our unprovoked attack on that country. We are not debating a bill to reverse the odious FISA bill passed recently which will result in extreme abuses of Americans by gutting the Fourth Amendment.

Instead of addressing these and scores of other pressing issues over which we do have authority, we prefer to spend our time criticizing a foreign government over which we have no authority and foreign domestic problems about which we have very little accurate information.

I do find it ironic that this resolution “calls on the Government of the People’s Republic of China to begin earnest negotiations, without preconditions, directly with His Holiness the Dalai Lama or his representatives.” For years US policy has been that no meeting or negotiation could take place with Iran until certain preconditions are met by Iran . Among these is a demand that Iran cease uranium enrichment, which Iran has the right to do under the terms of the Non-Proliferation Treaty. It is little wonder why some claim that resolutions like this are hypocritical.

Instead of lecturing China, where I have no doubt there are problems as there are everywhere, I would suggest that we turn our attention to the very real threats in a United States where our civil liberties and human rights are being eroded on a steady basis. The Bible cautions against pointing out the speck in a neighbor’s eye while ignoring the log in one’s own. I suggest we contemplate this sound advice before bringing up such ill-conceived resolutions in the future.

I would love to see him make statements like this as President_

It Was Fun While It Lasted

by Vince on June 13, 2008

We all new that Ron Paul never had a chance, but it was refreshing to see a candidate that actually came close to lining up with what I believe.

In the meantime I hope a third party candidate shows up soon…with a LOT of money.

At the end of the day, God is enough.

Ron Paul Video Hacked on YouTube?

by Vince on February 12, 2008

This video was put up this morning by the Ron Paul Campaign. It appears that YouTube has been hacked. If you look at the graphic you will notice the the amount of favorites, Comments and reviews…so why does the views say 213? I checked it again after I watched it, and it still said 213, even though it appears that at least two others started watching it at the same time I did. Weird. Could be a glitch on YouTube. But maybe not…I wouldn’t be surprised.

Top Ten Things of 2007

by Vince on December 20, 2007

Rather than pigeon hole myself into a single category, I thought I would just do everything in one shot.

  1. No Country For Old Men. This movie will probably end up in my top ten movies of all time list, it’s that good. If you like the Coen Brothers and Fargo, then you will like this even more. Rich with truth and humanity. I might even read the book.
  2. Science And The Akashic Field. If you are a cog, and heavy truth lends to you connecting with God, then you must read this book now. A very heavy read. You will find yourself re-reading so much of it just to catch up on vocabulary.
  3. In Rainbows. Radiohead may have made the biggest dent in changing the music industry in years. In a day where most crap on the radio sucks…it is nice to see a real album get some press.
  4. Bass Pro Shops. We finally have one in Southern California after being teased for 3 years. I love the outdoors, and Bass Pro knows how to do it, if you can navigate through the huge trucks in the parking lot.
  5. 24. Was it the last season because of the writers strike? I hope not.
  6. Florida Gators Basketball. Back to back baby. I’m not a fan of Florida, but they have been a blast to watch these last two seasons. They work hard and Joakim Noah works harder.
  7. 2008 Giant Reign. It’s actually a 2008, but I got it a few months ago. My new bike is everything I needed and more.
  8. Ron Paul. There is hope for America when someone like Ron Paul has a chance. He is the only candidate that isn’t owned by corporate America or the war machine. I beg you to take a look for yourself.
  9. Sky Blue Sky. Wilco is probably the best band that you have never heard of and this is their best album.
  10. Smithwick’s. I just discovered Smithwick’s this year. It is kind of like Newcastle…but better.

What did I miss?

Ron Paul Update

by Vince on December 17, 2007

I’ve slacked on the Ron Paul updates…so here’s a great video. If you haven’t heard, Ron Paul raised over six million bucks yesterday, and common citizens will start to here more about him this week, which is good. It’s cool to see people come together and support someone who wasn’t force-fed to us by the main stream media.

Can’t wait for my Ron Paul Bumper stickers.
