Severe Beatings | Setting Standards

by Vince on June 4, 2008

As a leader with several hats (father, husband, pastor, business owner) I am scrutinized to the Nth degree. It is definitely something I signed up for and not to be taken lightly. Currently I am going through another incredible time of growth and I am excited to see what God is doing.

I got this video in my Seed Magazine feed today, and I thought I would share it with all the leaders out there. It is video of a classic experiment and it is some what creepy to see. But the impact it had on me, especially as a father was huge. What do I model to those around me?

People are watching us, and it should scare us. It should scare us into the arms of God.

Blog’s You Aren’t Reading

by Vince on May 27, 2008

I have always been the kind of person that is looking for the next cool new thing. Here are some feeds I am getting that you’re not…but should check out.

  • Feminist Mormon Housewives | Yeah I know. For some reason it is in the reader and I check in on them. They found me on a blog I wrote something for and started some discussion, been getting the feed ever since. Plus I have always been fascinated by Mormons.
  • Mike Davidson | Mike is the mastermind behind sites like Newsvine and ESPN.com. Add this to your reader to get insider information that only a guy at that level has access to. Plus I think he’s funny.
  • Seed Magazine | I enjoy thinking on the heavy. Seed magazine takes science to a cultural level as science begins to blur the line between culture and geekdom.

So I read a lot and I am looking for more. What should I add to the reader…your blog?

Science and Morality

by Vince on May 16, 2008

I get Seed Magazine and subscribe to their feed. It’s a cool resource if you like heavy thinking. This video is of two scientists trying to have a conversation about morality and it is a little awkward to watch them. Kinda like my wife looking under the hood of a car and trying to explain how things work.
